The primary mission of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter is evangelization.
The Ordinariate exists for those who are and who will be coming into full communion with the Catholic Church. Through the reverence and beauty of our worship, study of sacred Scripture and charity for those in need, we desire to share the joy of being Roman Catholic!
St. John Fisher Catholic Church desires to uphold that same mission as well. What does this me for you? It is quite simple really. We are a Church that welcomes those who have been Catholic their whole lives, as well as those who are wondering what it means to be Catholic. Through that welcome, we pray for the uniting of all mankind to worship God in holiness and righteousness.
The first part of that welcome will be the celebration of the Mass. In the celebration of the Mass, people are introduced to and participate in an ancient form of worship. It is there they prepare to meet the Risen Lord. You may see things you are unfamiliar with. The Priest will face the Altar, you will hear and participate in centuries old prayers, and you will speak in a way that displays the utmost respect which should always be given to Almighty God. For some this will be a different way to approach Mass, but in reality it will not be that different at all. What it will be is a beautiful display of the reverance and beauty of our faith. And this faith fostered in our people is then practically worked out in our lives with all our heart, soul, and mind.
All Catholics and those who desire to be Catholic are encouraged to join us and unite in our mission!
